Frankovka modra 2018
Pretty light and drinkable yet interesting and medium-bodied red wine, with spicy dried fruit nose and good tannins and acidity.
Grapes: 100% Blaufrankish.
Vinification: macerated on skin until the end of fermentation - 3 - 4 weeks. Then put it into 225l old oak barrels and maturedd for 1 year there, all the time on fine lees.
András Mátyás: "This is the variety where we have the lowest yield, 0.3 to 0,5 kgs per plant - that's the natural yield (we don't do green harvest), looks like that's the state of harmony for the plant. . Blaufränkisch was always the typical red wine for this region, usually giving an easy-to-drink wine, thanks to its good acids. With this low yield and high level of ripeness, still kept its acids, completing this full bodied wine with enjoyable freshness."
